Yes. 5x5 is the default because it is the classic, but you can pick 3x3, 4x4 or 6x6 from the card size dropdown, or set any width and height from 2 to 8 squares under Custom size. Cards do not have to be square either, so 4 across by 7 down is fine. A 3x3 suits young children and quick rounds; the counter under the square list always tells you how many squares the size you picked needs.
Yes, and it is free. Alongside the presets there is a Custom option with five colour pickers: card background, square text, title bar, title text and the free space. The picker measures the contrast between your text and background as you go and warns you if a pairing would be hard to read across a room, so you can match a wedding palette or a company brand without ending up with an unreadable card.
Yes. Turn on fill by column in step one and leave a blank line between blocks: the first block fills the first column, the second block the second, and so on.
